NanoImpactNet News Update:
Second NanoImpactNet Conference
NanoImpactNet's second integrating conference, “For a healthy environment in a future with nanotechnology”, to be held at the CHUV in Lausanne, from Wednesday 10 to Friday 12 March 2010. Information on the preliminary programme is available on: http://www.nanoimpactnet.eu/object_binary/o3051_Programme_NanoImpactNet_Conf2010.pdf
The call for abstracts is open for important sessions on the interaction of nanomaterials with biological, environmental and physical barriers, quality control in nanomaterial research, and tools for impact assessment. Information on abstract submission and registration for the conference is available on: http://www.nanoimpactnet.eu/object_class/nano_lausanne2010conference.html
There will also be a session on the emerging theme of nanomaterials and technology in the food industry, to which all stakeholders will be invited, from academia, industry, regulators and civil society. Participants also have the possibility of suggesting their own sessions. The first NanoImpactNet conference earlier this year welcomed 200 participants; we expect more that 300 in 2010.

NanoImpactNet is an FP7 coordination action establishing a multidisciplinary European network on the health and environmental impact of nanomaterials. NanoImpactNet started on the 1st April 2008 and will run until 2012.
The 24 institutes behind NanoImpactNet members are leading European research groups active in the fields of nanosafety, nanorisk assessment and nanotoxicology. Through numerous workshops over a period of four years, NanoImpactNet will bring together some of the best researchers to discuss future strategies, to exchange their ideas with the different stakeholder groups and to further the responsible development of nanotechnology.
CBNI are leading Workpackage 1 (Human Health) as well as being part of the core coordination team (with IST and RIVM).
